Known
distribution: Silver
perch were once widespread and
abundant throughout most of the Murray-Darling
Basin, including southern Queensland,
western NSW, northern Victoria, the Australian
Capital Territory and South Australia
(Cadwallader & Backhouse 1983).
Unfortunately silver perch
have now declined close to the point of
extinction in the wild. Only a few natural
self sustaining populations still occur
in their original range. |
